About TeslaMate
TeslaMate is a self-hosted data logger for Tesla vehicles. It records drives, charging sessions and vehicle state into a database that you run yourself, so owners keep their own long-term history instead of depending on a third-party service to store it.
Recorded data is kept in a Postgres database and explored through bundled Grafana dashboards that cover areas such as battery health, charge level and charging sessions. Vehicle data is also published to a local MQTT broker, which lets you connect it to Home Assistant, Node-RED or Telegram. Other capabilities include automatic address lookup, custom geo-fenced locations, charge cost tracking and support for several vehicles on one Tesla account. It is designed to let the car fall asleep as early as it can, which avoids adding extra battery drain.
TeslaMate is written in Elixir, released under the AGPL-3.0 licence and deployed with Docker. The web interface is translated into 19 languages, and data can be imported from TeslaFi and tesla-apiscraper. The project warns that fake sites and unofficial apps use its name, so it should only be obtained from the official repository and documentation site.
