About TemplateSpider
templatespider is a Chinese-language desktop tool that copies the pages of a website you choose and turns them into HTML templates. Downloaded CSS, JavaScript, images and HTML files are sorted automatically into separate folders, producing a tidy template that can be opened and browsed directly.
The project has two parts. The site-grabbing tool takes one or several page URLs, starts extraction with one click and opens the output folder when done. A template conversion tool then imports downloaded or hand-made HTML templates and assembles them into templates for the author's cloud site-building CMS, although manual adjustment is still expected. The output can also serve other CMS platforms such as Empire CMS and DedeCMS.
The software is built in Java with Jsoup and the author's xnx3 library, is released under Apache-2.0, and runs on Windows, macOS and Linux; after downloading and unzipping it can be launched directly. It was created because the CMS had few templates available. Users should respect copyright and site terms when copying third-party designs.
