About Subtitle Downloader
Subtitle Downloader captures subtitles while you watch and saves them as SRT, VTT, TXT or styled ASS files. Five platforms are handled natively (Max, Prime Video, Disney+, YouTube and Netflix), where it can download all episodes of a season or a whole playlist in one click and zip the results. For other sites it offers Universal Detection, a fallback that recognizes more than 24 subtitle formats, fixes encoding problems and reassembles streams that split subtitles into many DASH or HLS segments.
Further tools include AI translation that uses the browser's built-in model (Gemini Nano), dual subtitles with two languages merged into one ASS file with positioning, and a built-in editor for fixing sync, removing hearing-impaired tags such as music cues and correcting typos before download. The extension only reads subtitles when the user clicks Capture and does no background scanning. It is described as a free extension for Chrome, Firefox and Edge, with a pricing section for paid options.
