About Castr
Castr is a commercial live video streaming platform that bundles delivery, recording, hosting, monetization and OTT into one product. Broadcasters send a feed from any RTMP or SRT encoder and Castr distributes it to viewers and, if desired, to other destinations.
Platform areas include live streaming, multistreaming, cloud production, low-latency streaming, audio and radio streaming, always-on channels such as 24/7 TV playout and pre-recorded-as-live, IP camera streaming and live video monitoring. For hosting and delivery it offers video hosting, a video CDN, a live streaming CDN and live transcoding.
Monetization options include pay-per-view streaming and white-label OTT, and developers get an RTMP server, SRT streaming and a video API. Castr is hosted software with a trial that needs no credit card, and the vendor says plans start at $16 per month. It targets media and events, TV and radio, sports, churches, education and corporate video.
