About Skip or Buy: Cost per use
Skip or Buy is a mobile app that works out the real cost per use of anything you are thinking of buying. You enter the price and estimate how often you will use the item, and it shows the cost per use, which the app argues is more telling than the price tag, for example a jacket worn hundreds of times versus a gadget used twice and forgotten.
Compare mode puts two items side by side to show which gives more value. Smart benchmarks cover 33 built-in categories, with custom categories possible, so you can judge whether a cost per use is good or bad. Other features include saved items with photos, share cards for social media and a Worth It date that counts down to the break-even point. The app is available on iOS and Android in eight languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Chinese, and shows no ads.
