About Run Lap Tap
Run Lap Tap is a timing app for iPhone and iPad aimed at coaches, PE teachers, running clubs and athletics events. It replaces clipboards and stopwatches: you create an event, add runners and record each time as runners cross the line. No account is required to start, and the app needs iOS 17 or later.
Times can be captured four ways: tapping a runner's card, typing a bib number, scanning a reusable QR wristband or card, or tapping an NFC wristband on the phone. Three event types are supported: Race mode for single-lap finishes, Lap timing for multi-lap events with color-coded progress, and Time trial with staggered starts and an individual clock per runner. Rosters can be imported, personal bests and group analytics are tracked, and results export to CSV or PDF reports, with iCloud sync between devices.
The Pro plan adds PDF certificates and more than 35 achievement badges across six categories. There is a free tier, an annual Pro plan, and a one-off Race Pass that lifts the runner limit for a single event without needing a subscription.
