About Petabyte Cloud
Petabyte lets AI developers rent GPU compute by the hour from independent GPU owners. You can see live availability, GPU memory, host locations and hourly prices before creating an account, and you review the total cost before launching. Hosts set their own hourly rates, and started hours in metered rentals are rounded up to a whole hour.
Payments are escrow-backed: a prepayment stays held until the work is accepted, and disputed work stays in review. Ready-made templates cover tools such as Stable Diffusion, Blender renders, Ollama language models, PyTorch and TensorFlow, and a workspace opens from the console where you save outputs and stop when finished. A separate page serves GPU owners who want to list their hardware.
New accounts need no card and receive a $10 credit usable for compute only and not withdrawable as cash, and there is an invite program with credit for both sides. The site compares its listed average prices with AWS and Azure on-demand list prices.

Petabyte Cloud: questions and answers
- What is Petabyte Cloud used for?
- Petabyte Cloud is a marketplace for renting GPUs by the hour, where AI developers compare community prices and availability and prepay into escrow. It is a good fit for running Stable Diffusion experiments on rented GPUs, rendering Blender scenes without owning hardware and trying a language model with Ollama.
- How much does Petabyte Cloud cost?
- Petabyte Cloud is a paid product with no free plan. Hosts set hourly rates; started hours round up. New accounts get a $10 compute credit with no card needed.
- Is Petabyte Cloud open source?
- No. Petabyte Cloud is proprietary (closed-source) software and can't be self-hosted. In the AI Infrastructure category, open-source options include SGLang, Label Studio and MLflow.
- What are some alternatives to Petabyte Cloud?
- Petabyte Cloud competes with RunPod, Vast.ai and Lambda.
