About OpenMage
OpenMage LTS is a long-term-support fork of Magento Community Edition maintained by the community. It aims to be a dependable alternative to the official Magento CE releases, folding in security vulnerability patches, bug fixes and performance improvements while keeping a high level of backward compatibility so existing stores can move over easily.
Because it keeps compatibility with the Magento codebase, store owners and agencies can migrate an existing Magento CE shop to OpenMage in a short time, then keep receiving updates through regular releases. Installation is Composer-based, and documentation lives at docs.openmage.org. Pull requests for fixes and security patches from the community are explicitly encouraged.
OpenMage is written in PHP and licensed under OSL-3.0 and AFL-3.0. It is an unofficial, community-driven project rather than a vendor release, and it is sponsored through Open Collective. As a self-run e-commerce platform, you host it on your own PHP stack.
