About Keanan
Keanan is a people operations platform that combines payroll, contracts, time tracking, leave, meetings, benefits and expenses in one product. Employees use a single app and administrators use one dashboard. Its main pitch is ownership: you can put your own brand on it and run it on your own infrastructure instead of renting a closed HR tool.
Payroll supports scheduled salaries, monthly invoice PDFs and year-end earnings statements. Contracts cover full-time, part-time and freelance agreements with renewal dates and salary history. Time tracking offers one-click clocking, timesheets, billable rates, budgets, overtime and an absence planner. PTO has requests, approvals, live balances and a holiday-aware team calendar, and the meetings module rotates presenters automatically.
Deployment uses one Docker Compose stack bundling the API, job queue, database, flags and TLS, run either on the vendor's cloud or on your own AWS instance. Logo, colors and legal footer are set in the settings with no rebuild. Modules can be switched off per workspace, and an API, webhooks and an MCP server for AI assistants are included. The app is available in ten languages.
