Hearth Write: features, pricing and alternatives

About Hearth Write

Hearth is a distraction-free writing app. As you pause mid-sentence it shows a short inline AI suggestion of about 10 to 15 words, which you accept with Tab or ignore by typing on. The site says the suggestions are powered by OpenAI and are meant to help you write rather than write for you.

Habit features include word-count or time goals, streaks that reset when you miss a day, and email and Discord reminders. The editor has 10 built-in theme presets with every color variable customizable, unlimited projects with nested folders for chapters, notes and research, autosave with version history, and export to PDF, ePub, DOCX or Markdown. It runs in the browser.

A 7-day free trial needs no credit card, and a comparison table on the page lists Hearth at 6.99 dollars a month next to Scrivener at 49 dollars once, Ulysses at 5.99 dollars a month and the free Google Docs.
