About Google Classroom
Google Classroom is a classroom management tool from Google for Education that gives teachers one place to distribute assignments, collect and grade student work and communicate with a class. It is aimed at schools and universities, and Google positions it as a single hub for the tools educators use to run their classes.
Classroom is part of Google Workspace for Education, which also includes Google Meet, Gemini for Education, Gemini Notebook and Workspace LTI for connecting with other learning systems. Editions include Education Fundamentals and Education Plus, with add-ons such as Google AI Pro for Education. Google also provides training courses, a resource library, product demos, certification programs for educators and Chromebooks for schools.
Google Classroom is a hosted service delivered through Google accounts and cannot be self-hosted. Institutions administer it through Google Workspace admin tools, and the available features depend on the Workspace for Education edition they choose.
