About Forage

Forage tells foragers what is worth looking for right now. A live list shows what can be harvested near you today, tuned to recent weather, with where each plant tends to grow and sustainable harvesting tips. Each species shows real recorded finds in your area over the years, drawn from GBIF observation data, so you can see the months that matter.

A rarity scanner rates how difficult a plant is to find in your area and season, and a watchlist sends a notification when a plant comes into season nearby or another forager reports it ripe. You can point the camera at a plant to identify it in seconds, add it to a map, share finds with the community and keep a private harvest journal with date, amount, location and notes while hiding favorite spots.

The app is free to download with in-app purchases, and Pro adds unlimited species details and seasonal data and personalized notifications. It is listed in Education, runs on iPhone and iPad and supports English plus six more languages.
