About FishFinder

The app, listed as fish identifier, scans a photo taken in the app or uploaded from your device and returns the fish's common name, scientific name and classification in seconds. It is aimed at anglers, divers, snorkelers, biology students and aquarium keepers who want to name or verify a species.

After each scan there are species details such as habitat, diet, behavior and distinguishing features that help tell similar-looking fish apart. A personal journal saves each identification with notes and photos, and saved identifications are available offline. The app is free to download with in-app purchases, runs on iPhone and is listed in the Education category. Its description covers marine and freshwater fish.
