About Explains

Explains is a web app for people who need to understand a legal document before signing it. You upload a PDF, Word file or text, and scanned documents are read with OCR. The AI translates the legal wording into plain English and highlights risks such as hidden fees, automatic renewals and liability clauses, with an analysis the site says takes about 60 seconds.

The original text is shown side by side with the simple explanation, so you can click a paragraph to look deeper. On the Professional plan an AI chat answers questions about any section using the full document as context. Annotated documents can be exported and shared with a lawyer, partner or team.

It supports seven languages and handles contracts, leases, NDAs and similar documents. The site gives a price from 9 euros a month with a 14-day free trial, no charge until day 15, and cancellation at any time.
