About EA app

The EA app is the launcher and storefront from Electronic Arts for PC and Mac gaming. Players use it to download, update and launch EA games, and it replaces the older launcher as the company's main desktop client.

The vendor stresses fast downloads and a streamlined path into a game, links between an EA Account and other gaming platforms so friends lists can be imported, and discovery features that show what friends are playing and which new releases are available. It also provides access to the EA Play membership.

The EA app is a free client from a commercial publisher, so games and memberships are paid for separately. It is relevant mostly to players of EA titles, such as sports, shooter and simulation games.
