About DecTask

DecTask is a project management tool designed around an issue-driven, agile development workflow, aimed at internet companies and teams who want efficient collaboration without a heavyweight commercial tool. It positions itself around agile best practices to help teams deliver high-quality products.

The backend uses the Gin framework in Go to quickly build a RESTful API, with GORM handling database operations, Redis for caching, Go's built-in worker pool for asynchronous processing, Swagger for automated API documentation, and Zap for logging; the frontend is built with Vite, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS and Ant Design, with WebSocket support for live updates. MySQL 8.0 is the recommended database, with PostgreSQL, MariaDB and TiDB planned for future support.

DecTask can be installed directly on a server after setting up MySQL and optionally Redis and editing a config.yaml file, or deployed with Docker and Docker Compose, which handles installation and initialization automatically and generates an administrator account and password on first run. It is released under the AGPL-3.0 license, and the project also maintains an older codebase, originally called Masterlab, as a separate branch.
