About Beszel

Beszel is a small server monitoring platform offering Docker statistics, stored history and alerts. It aims to be friendly and simple, with a web interface and little configuration needed, and positions itself as smaller and less resource-intensive than larger monitoring solutions. It is popular in homelab setups.

Its architecture has two parts: a hub that provides the web interface and stores data, and agents that run on the systems being monitored. Features include configurable alerts on most metrics with many notification services, per-container CPU, memory and network history, network response time and interruption monitoring, and S.M.A.R.T. disk health data with notifications on drive failure. Several users can manage their own systems while admins can share systems between users, and OAuth and OIDC logins are supported with password authentication optionally disabled.

Beszel also provides automatic backups to disk or S3-compatible storage, and an API for access. It is written in Go and MIT licensed. It suits people running a handful of servers or containers who want straightforward monitoring without the setup effort of a full metrics stack.
