Huly is an open-source platform meant to replace several tools at once, including Linear, Jira, Slack, Notion and Motion. Under the hood the Huly Platform is a framework for developing business applications such as CRM systems, and this repository includes applications for chat, project management, CRM, HR management and applicant tracking, with team and issue management covered too.

There are two important notices. First, the repository is frozen and no longer actively maintained, with development continuing in the Platform-Collective/platform repository. Second, the managed Huly service was shut down since nobody is funding its hosting any more. The remaining option is to self-host Huly or use another hosted provider, and the README points to a backup and restore guide and a community for migration help.

The code is written in TypeScript and licensed under EPL-2.0. Other teams have built products on top of the platform. Anyone interested in Huly today should look at the successor repository for current source code, issues and releases rather than relying on this one.

Key features

  • Project and issue management
  • Built-in team chat
  • Integrated CRM module
  • HR management and applicant tracking
  • Framework for building business apps
  • Self-hosting with backup and restore guide

Pricing: Plans differ by storage and call traffic with unlimited users on every tier. Common is free; Rare, Epic and Legendary are paid monthly tiers with 100GB, 1TB and 10TB of storage, and a custom plan is available on request.

DooTask is an open-source project and task management tool for teams. The project description lists task distribution and project management alongside online document collaboration, online mind maps, online flowcharts, instant messaging and file management, so teams can plan work and talk about it in one place. Messages use asymmetric encryption for added privacy.

Installation is done with Docker: the README requires Docker 20.10 or newer and Docker Compose v2, on Linux or Unix-like systems such as CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu and macOS, or on Windows via WSL2. It recommends at least two CPU cores and 4 GB of memory, and uses MariaDB provided by the default Compose setup. A one-line install script can set up or upgrade an installation, and a demo site and QQ group are linked.

DooTask is written in PHP and licensed under AGPL-3.0. It is designed to be self-hosted and suits small and mid-sized teams, especially Chinese-speaking ones, who want an all-in-one workspace on their own servers.

Key features

  • Project and task management
  • Built-in instant messaging
  • Online mind maps and flowcharts
  • Document collaboration tools
  • Built-in file management tools
  • Docker-based installation with one-line script

Pricing: Open Source Edition is free for up to 3 users and a SaaS trial is offered. Basic costs ¥8,888 for teams under 10 and Pro ¥18,888 for unlimited users; Custom Edition is quoted.

ONLYOFFICE Groups, formerly known as Community Server, is an open-source collaborative platform that serves as a central workspace for a team. It brings documents, projects, customers and email together in one place, and from version 11.0 it is distributed under the Apache 2.0 licence.

Document management covers file sharing with flexible permissions, links to cloud storage such as Google Drive, Box, Dropbox, OneDrive and ownCloud, and embedding of documents in websites. Project management offers milestones, tasks and subtasks, Gantt charts, time tracking and automated reports. The CRM stores contacts and interactions, generates invoices, tracks payments and offers web-to-lead forms.

Collaboration tools add blogs, forums, an internal wiki, a shared calendar, a mail client that aggregates several accounts, and an employee directory. It forms the base of the wider ONLYOFFICE Workspace suite, which can be extended with ONLYOFFICE Docs for document, spreadsheet, presentation and PDF editing, a mail server, Talk messaging and a control panel. The code base is C#.

  • Document management with access permissions
  • Project management with Gantt charts
  • CRM with invoices and web-to-lead forms

Teamlinker is a team collaboration platform that brings several tools into one place so companies do not need separate apps for project progress, colleague communication and client meetings. It is built on TeamOS, a web operating system in which users can run tasks in parallel in windows, similar to a desktop operating system.

It has six functional modules: project management, wiki, calendar, meetings, chat and a network disk. The web OS offers desktop management, multiple windows, multitasking, file drag and drop, upload and download. Meetings use WebRTC for multi-person video and voice, member invitations, screen sharing, virtual backgrounds, video blur, administrator controls and in-meeting chat. A custom block editor powers the wiki.

The stack is TypeScript throughout, with Node.js on the back end and Vue 3 on the front end, and mediasoup is listed among its topics. Related open-source components include TLCalendar, TLEditor, TLMeetingClient and TLMeetingServer. Teamlinker is licensed under GPL-3.0 and has documentation in English and Chinese.

Key features

  • Project, wiki, calendar, chat and network disk modules
  • Browser-based web OS with multiple windows
  • WebRTC video meetings with screen sharing
  • Virtual backgrounds and video blur
  • Block-based wiki editor
  • File drag, drop, upload and download

Pricing: Free and open source under GPL-3.0.
