About Talon
Talon for Mac turns X bookmarks into a usable library. It syncs bookmarks incrementally or in full into a local SQLite database, lets users browse as a list or visual grid, search for exact words and narrow results with filters for author, content kind, folder, label, media, notes or date. A Reader shows posts, articles, quoted articles, threads and videos in an appropriate format, with images in place, thread context one click away and AI summaries beside the source.
Organization tools include folders, colored labels, notes, favorites, an archive state, reusable rules that sort new bookmarks automatically and a dedicated author library, and a media library lets users filter images, videos, GIFs and YouTube links and download original files. An Ask feature retrieves relevant bookmarks locally and streams an answer with citations linked to the Reader, using the user's own provider through keys, subscriptions or local models. It needs no Talon account, runs on Apple silicon with macOS 14 or later, and costs nothing for up to 30 bookmarks, with unlimited use available for a single $39 payment.
