About SumSpot

SumSpot is a Safari browser extension for iPhone. After opening an article, the user taps the SumSpot button and a summary appears over the page being read, so there is no copying, app switching or pasting links into a chatbot. It reads news and blogs, documentation, research and other long-form writing.

The extension needs to be enabled once under Settings, Safari, Extensions, and it works on iOS 15 or later without needing Apple Intelligence or a new phone. No account is required. The app is free to download and gives a number of free summaries to start, after which a monthly auto-renewing subscription provides unlimited summarizing. The developer notes a fix for sites where summaries previously failed.
