Sonatype Nexus Repository is a commercial artifact repository manager that gives development teams a central place for the binaries and packages they build and consume. It supports many package formats, including Maven, npm and Docker images, and now also helps manage AI models alongside conventional artifacts.

A central repository speeds up builds by caching dependencies and gives teams a controlled place to publish internal components. It is part of Sonatype's Nexus One platform, which also includes Sonatype Firewall for malware protection, Lifecycle for software composition analysis, an SBOM manager and Guide for open source intelligence. Sonatype also runs the Maven Central repository.
