About Ravel

Ravel is a hosted dependency-aware project planning tool. Instead of a flat backlog, it turns a brief into a map of tasks with dependencies, dates, owners and blocked or ready states, so a team can see which task waits on which and where the critical path runs. An example in which an auth API blocks the login interface shows how finishing one task unlocks the next.

Each task has a type such as backend, frontend or QA, assignees, start and due dates and a completion method, and the timeline view lays the whole plan out by date. A map can be regenerated from a brief and saved as a project. It is aimed at small engineering teams, and the site offers a 14-day free trial, a page on when to use it and comparisons with alternatives.
