About n8n-as-code

n8n-as-code turns a Git repository into a development workspace for n8n workflow automation. Instead of building workflows only in the n8n browser editor, you can browse, edit, validate and sync them from VS Code, Cursor or the command line, with an AI agent that has live knowledge of your n8n environment.

The toolkit bundles node schemas and workflow templates so that AI agents can generate grounded, valid workflows, and it supports GitOps-style pull and push with diffs and conflict resolution. Workflows can be converted into readable TypeScript files, and you can verify workflows, inspect credentials, run tests, activate workflows and look at executions against a chosen n8n environment. Secrets and local runtime state stay out of the repository.

n8n-as-code is written in TypeScript and licensed under MIT. It runs on your own machine against an n8n instance and is an independent community project that is not affiliated with or endorsed by n8n. It suits developers and automation engineers who want version control, code review and AI assistance for their workflows.
