About Jules
Jules is an autonomous coding agent from Google that works in the background on tasks in GitHub repositories. Developers hand off chores they would rather not do, such as bug fixes, version bumps, test fixes and building features, and review the result afterward instead of working through each step themselves.
The workflow starts by choosing a repository and branch and writing a detailed prompt, or by adding a jules label to a GitHub issue. Jules clones the repository to a cloud virtual machine and uses a Gemini model to draft a plan, which the user can approve. It then shows a diff of its changes for review and creates a pull request that can be merged and published on GitHub.
Jules is a hosted commercial service with tiered plans. Per the homepage, the base plan allows 15 tasks per day with 3 concurrent tasks on Gemini 2.5 Pro, while the Pro tier raises this to 100 daily tasks and 15 concurrent tasks with higher access to newer models.
