About DBAPI

DBAPI is a low-code data service platform aimed at data warehouse developers. You write SQL and set parameters in a web interface, and it generates HTTP API endpoints automatically, removing repetitive CRUD coding. The README positions it as an enterprise data service management center where data APIs are centrally managed, published, monitored and governed, for uses such as BI reports, dashboards, quick front-end prototypes and AI application data integration.

It needs no external dependencies beyond a Java runtime and runs in standalone or cluster mode on Windows and Linux. Data sources include MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Hive, Doris, OceanBase, GaussDB, Chinese databases such as DM and Kingbase, and any JDBC database, along with an Elasticsearch executor and an HTTP proxy executor for forwarding third-party REST APIs. SQL supports MyBatis-style dynamic syntax, an editor with run and debug, select, insert, update, delete and stored procedures, and combined multi-SQL execution with transaction control.

API orchestration uses a visual DAG canvas with start, API execution, condition and end nodes, passing earlier results to later steps, plus Groovy scripts for data processing. DBAPI is licensed under AGPL-3.0, has a live demo and documentation, and the interface text is partly Chinese.

Key features

  • Generates HTTP APIs from SQL
  • MyBatis-style dynamic SQL with debugging
  • Many relational data sources plus Elasticsearch
  • Visual DAG API orchestration
  • Groovy scripting for data processing
  • Standalone or cluster deployment on Java

Good fit for

  • →Exposing warehouse queries as REST APIs for dashboards
  • →Prototyping data endpoints without backend code
