Continuwuity

Continuwuity is a Matrix homeserver written in Rust. Matrix is an open protocol for decentralized chat, and a homeserver stores accounts and rooms and communicates with other servers in the network. Continuwuity is the official community continuation of the conduwuit homeserver, which itself grew out of Conduit.

The project emphasizes user experience and new features and is run by a community with a Matrix chat room and space, plus Open Collective funding. The source is mirrored across several forges, including Forgejo, GitHub, Codeberg and GitLab. Installation and configuration documentation is hosted on the project's own site, and releases use calendar-style version numbers.

Continuwuity is licensed under Apache-2.0 and is self-hosted on your own machine, which suits individuals and communities that want their own Matrix server with modest resource needs. The GitHub repository is a mirror of the main repository. It is aimed at people who already know Matrix and want a lightweight alternative to heavier homeserver implementations.
