About Bottom

Bottom, run as btm, is a graphical process and system monitor that lives in the terminal. It runs on Linux, macOS and Windows and draws charts and tables for the resources a machine is using, in the tradition of tools such as htop, gtop and gotop.

Graph widgets chart average and per-core CPU load over time, along with memory and swap, network and disk I/O, and temperature, with zooming across time ranges. Further widgets cover disk capacity, temperature sensors and battery use. The process widget supports sorting, searching, sending kill signals and a tree view, and an htop-inspired basic mode is included.

Behavior can be adjusted through command-line flags or a configuration file, including built-in or custom color themes, widget layout and filters. Bottom is written in Rust, licensed under MIT, and installable through many package managers including Cargo, Homebrew, Scoop, winget, Snap and several Linux distribution repositories, as well as pre-built binaries.
