TiXL, formerly Tooll3, is open-source software for creating real-time motion graphics. It sits between real-time rendering, node-graph procedural generation and linear keyframe animation, so artists get both generative flexibility and precise timeline control.
That combination lets artists build audio-reactive visuals for VJ performances, explore parameters through specialized interfaces, or blend keyframe animation with automation. Technical artists can go deeper and write fragment or compute shaders, or feed in input from MIDI controllers, sensors and sources such as OSC or Spout. The project is a .NET application built on DirectX 11 with an ImGui-based interface.
TiXL is licensed under MIT and runs on your own computer, with a website offering downloads and documentation. It is aimed at motion designers, VJs and creative coders who want a free alternative to commercial real-time graphics tools.
