About WhatCode
WhatCode is an iPhone app that works as a mobile client for OpenCode, an open-source AI coding agent. It does not run the agent itself: you connect to your own OpenCode server and chat from your phone with an assistant that can read your files, understand the codebase and suggest edits. The listing says it works over your own infrastructure so your data stays with you.
The app attaches to any self-hosted OpenCode instance, lists and manages your projects, and shows replies streaming in real time, with the AI seeing your actual code for context. Setup offers two connection modes, through the WhatCode daemon using a QR code or directly to OpenCode, and the home screen shows an indicator when the server cannot be reached. A new session can be started from a project card, and there are dark and light modes. A running OpenCode server is required, and all features need a WhatCode Pro subscription.
