About TranscriptOut
TranscriptOut is a developer API for pulling YouTube transcripts without running a scraper or fighting blocks and captchas. You can search videos, channels and playlists, list every video ID of a channel at 500 per request, and submit a whole list as one job of up to 4,000 transcripts, which the service queues and retries for you.
Transcripts can be returned in five formats: timed JSON lines, one plain text block suited to AI models and search indexes, SRT or VTT subtitle files, or YouTube's raw caption XML. Adding a download flag returns the file itself. Each key is limited to 200 requests per minute, and all of it can also be called through MCP.
Pricing is credit-based: you start free with 100 credits, each transcript and each listing call costs one credit, and volume pricing goes down to $1.99 per 1,000 credits. It is a hosted service with documentation, use cases and an FAQ, aimed at developers building products on video transcripts.
