About TapTax

TapTax is built for self-employed people in the UK who must now maintain digital records and submit four updates a year to HMRC, then a final declaration, instead of one annual return. The app imports a bank statement from CSV with presets for 16 UK banks, sorts every transaction with AI, scans receipts and bills, and keeps a running tax estimate. The site describes it as HMRC-recognised and says it files each update directly.

Other features are branded invoicing with saved clients, repeats and reminders, bookkeeping, and quote tools. The site also hosts tax guides and free tools such as a sole trader tax calculator, salary after tax, stamp duty, a VAT calculator, an IR35 checker, an invoice generator and parsers for receipts and bank statements. Mobile apps are listed as coming soon to the App Store and Google Play. A free start is offered and paid plans begin at 4.99 pounds a month.
