About RAWGraphs

RAWGraphs is an open web application for creating custom vector-based visualizations on top of the d3.js library. It was developed by the DensityDesign Research Lab at Politecnico di Milano together with Calibro and INMAGIK, and is mainly meant for designers and visualization enthusiasts.

The aim is to be a missing link between spreadsheet applications such as LibreOffice Calc, Excel, Numbers and Google Sheets and vector graphics editors such as Inkscape and Adobe Illustrator. You paste or load tabular data, such as CSV files and spreadsheets, choose a chart layout, map your data fields to visual variables and export clean SVG that can be refined in a vector editor. The repository topics mention data journalism and design.

RAWGraphs is licensed under Apache-2.0. You can use the public web app or host your own copy of the code. It suits designers, journalists and researchers who want unusual chart types without programming.
