About Plex Systems

Plex Systems, now part of Rockwell Automation's FactoryTalk portfolio, provides cloud software for running manufacturing operations. Its core is the Plex Manufacturing Execution System (MES), a SaaS platform that tracks production on the shop floor and connects people, machines and business systems.

The vendor calls it an edge-to-cloud platform that runs as one multi-tenant instance, automates processes and captures data from end to end. The wider Plex line includes an ERP application, a quality management system, asset performance management, production monitoring, a finite scheduler and a connected-worker application, with a version of the MES tailored to food and beverage producers.

Plex is delivered as software as a service rather than being self-hosted. It targets manufacturers that want ERP and shop-floor execution on one platform, and Rockwell Automation offers product demos on request.
