About openbudget.sh

OpenBudget links your financial accounts to AI assistants. You connect a bank once, with credentials staying with Plaid and no ability for OpenBudget to move money, and then ask Claude or ChatGPT through its connector questions about spending, budgets and trends, phrased naturally. Transactions can also sync automatically into Google Sheets or Excel, so no CSV exports are needed.

The AI gets budgeting tools rather than raw transactions only: categorization rules it remembers, splitting a mixed purchase into several budget categories, tracking credit cards and loans with balances, interest rates and due dates, and viewing investments such as stocks, retirement accounts and added assets like rental property. Scheduled check-ins can run through the AI client. The site says more than 10,000 banks and cards are supported and offers a 7-day free trial.
