About MallChat
MallChatWeb is the front-end project for MallChat, a Chinese open-source system described as one that supports both shopping and instant messaging. The README says the aim is to demonstrate enterprise-grade project practices, and lists the e-commerce functions it intends to include: cart, orders, payment, recommendations, search, promotion, push notifications, logistics and customer service. The chat side is an IM project in which a Netty backend connects to the browser over WebSockets.
Chat features include WeChat QR-code login, member lists, online and offline animations, message lists and message interactions. The back end adds reusable pieces such as AOP logging, a distributed-lock annotation, a rate-limit annotation and IP location lookup. The front end uses Vue 3, Pinia, vue-router, TypeScript, Element Plus, Alova and Vite, with pnpm for packages.
To run it you need Node 16.18 or later and pnpm; production deployment means building and serving the dist folder behind Nginx, optionally with GitHub Actions for CI/CD. The back end lives in a separate repository, and the maintainers provide extensive Chinese study documentation, video logs and a community group. It is licensed under Apache-2.0 and is as much a learning resource as a product.
