About EmailKind
EmailKind is a hosted API that tells you what kind of mailbox sits behind an email address, rather than whether the mailbox exists. A single call to the classify endpoint returns the provider, such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 or Zoho, whether the address is business, free or disposable, and a confidence score.
Provider detection covers more than 150 services and separates shared MX providers such as Gmail and Google Workspace. Type classification sorts addresses into business, personal, disposable, education, hosting and self-hosted, and company enrichment resolves custom domains to a company name using SSL certificates, RDAP and website metadata. It relies on passive DNS analysis, so it sends no probes to the mailbox, and the domain database is updated daily.
Official SDKs exist for Python, Node.js and Go, and any HTTP client works with a bearer API key. The site includes a live demo, documentation and a status indicator, and offers a free tier of 100 calls a month with no credit card.
