Codex QR: features, pricing and alternatives

About Codex QR

Codex QR combines a web service for dynamic QR codes with desktop software for scanning and generating them offline. The web side lets users create codes that can be edited after printing, because each one points to a short link, so the destination can change without reprinting the code.

Online features include nine code types such as URL, WiFi, vCard, PDF, email, event, WhatsApp and link in bio, real-time scan analytics by device, country, date and time, password protection and custom colors and shapes. The desktop app adds a screen-area scanner, webcam or iPhone camera scanning, batch extraction from images and PDFs, and generation of more than 25 code types.

Codex QR is proprietary software that has been released since 2016. Its site says the core product became free for everyone to mark its tenth anniversary, so the generating, scanning and sharing basics need no card or trial.
