About 3D-Coat

3D-Coat, also written 3DCoat, is an application for creating 3D models that combines voxel and polygon technologies. It covers sculpting, modeling, retopology, UV mapping, painting and PBR texturing, taking an idea from a block of digital clay to a textured organic or hard-surface model. The program is available in 70 languages and is used for teaching in universities and schools.

The vendor offers several versions. 3DCoatTextura focuses on texturing and rendering at a lower price, with brushes, smart materials and layers for hand-painted and PBR textures. 3DCoatPrint is a free edition with voxel modeling for print-ready models, with exports limited to a maximum of 40,000 triangles. A free library of scanned PBR materials and samples is available, and each month users receive points to spend on smart materials, masks and reliefs.
